Materials are society at its core. Messy and unfinished. These are the pieces, the building blocks that when mixed with our imaginations, create spaces to live.
Josh Schaedel and Aaron Farley’s project (YIELD) takes another look at the materials and signage around construction and infrastructure and with the infusion of photography reimagines them at the moment in time when they are in between performing their intended job. Sheets of drywall, construction materials and tools are positioned in the room and put into a different context. The smell of unsealed wood and the sound of fans and rustling plastic push the viewer to experience the things we over look and help to re-examine where we come from.
